We only collect information you choose to give us, or that is generated as you use the site:

• Newsletter subscriptions — your email address, and optionally your name, country, postcode and derived state, so we can send relevant editions.
• Competition entries — the details requested on the entry form, such as name, email address, contact details and answers to entry questions.
• Comments — the name, email address and comment text you submit. Your email address is not published.
• Contact and enquiry forms — your name, email address, enquiry reason and message.
• Website usage — standard technical information such as pages viewed, referring page, approximate location, browser and device type.
• Advertising measurement — where advertising is displayed, we record aggregate impression and click counts to report performance to advertisers.

We use personal information to:

• send the DSP newsletter and other editions you have asked for;
• run and administer competitions, and contact winners;
• moderate and publish comments;
• respond to enquiries;
• understand how the site is used so we can improve our content;
• report advertising performance to advertisers in aggregate.

We do not sell your personal information. Advertising reporting is aggregate and does not identify individual readers to advertisers.

We use third-party service providers to operate the website, host our database and images, and send email. These providers only handle information as needed to deliver those services to us.

Every DSP email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately. You can also email us and we will remove you from our list.

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. Access to subscriber, entry, comment and enquiry records is limited to authorised DSP administrators. We keep information for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected, and remove or de-identify it when it is no longer required.

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can also raise a privacy concern with us and we will respond as promptly as we can.

This site may use cookies or similar browser storage to keep the site working correctly and to measure general usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work as intended if they are blocked.
